Calm Down & Rise Up: Vanagon VC Event

Last week, SIROC joined the Vanagon Ventures community for a day in the Bavarian Alps.

The setting was deliberately different from the usual conference environment: a one-hour hike through the forest, a mountain hut, and a day of open conversations between founders, investors and operators.

Sometimes, getting away from meeting rooms, screens and packed agendas creates exactly the space needed for better conversations.

Building Technology in Europe

Vanagon Ventures is a Munich-based pre-seed DeepTech VC investing in category-defining companies across Industrial AI, novel digital infrastructure and NatureTech.

For SIROC, being part of this community means connecting with people who are not just talking about technological transformation, but actively building and financing it.

And one takeaway from the day stood out:

There are a lot of good people in Europe doing great things.

It's easy to compare the European technology ecosystem with the US or China and focus on where Europe moves more slowly, where funding rounds are smaller, or where companies are less aggressive in scaling.

Those differences are real.

But there is nothing to hide.

Europe has exceptional founders, engineers, investors and operators building ambitious technology companies. We saw plenty of that ambition and optimism in the conversations in the mountains.

We Are All Changemakers

One theme ran through the entire day: we are all changemakers.

Founders decide which problems to solve.

Investors decide where to allocate capital.

Engineers and operators turn ideas into products and companies.

Technology, and AI in particular, is transforming our economy and society at extraordinary speed. None of us are simply observers of that transformation.

Our capital, our work, the companies we build and the decisions we make all influence which direction it takes.

That creates responsibility, but also an enormous opportunity.

At SIROC, we believe the best way to navigate this transformation is to actively participate in it: building, investing, experimenting, sharing what we learn and working with people who want to create meaningful companies.

Days like the Vanagon Community Day are a good reminder that there are plenty of those people right here in Europe.
